Computer Description of Textured Surfaces
نویسنده
چکیده
This work deals with computer analysis of tex tured surfaces. Descriptions of textures are form alized from natural language descriptions. Local texture descriptions are obtained from the direction al and non-directional components of the Fourier transform power spectrum. Analytic expressions are de rived for orientation, contrast, size, spacing, and in periodic cases, the locations of texture elements. The local descriptions are defined over windows of varying sizes.

Dry Friction and Wear Performance of Micro Surface Textures Generated by Ultrasonic Assisted Face Turning
Nowadays the surface texturing has been widely recognized as a usable capability to improve the tribological systems. In this paper, ultrasonic assisted turning (UAT) isperformed to create the micro textures on the flat faces. Micro surface texturing ismade on the Al7075-T6 by the UAT in the face turning process. Then, the influences of cutting speed feed, vibration direction and vibration ampl...

متن کاملRecognition methods for 3D textured surfaces
Texture as a surface representation is the subject of a wide body of computer vision and computer graphics literature. While texture is always associated with a form of repetition in the image, the repeating quantity may vary. The texture may be a color or albedo variation as in a checkerboard, a paisley print or zebra stripes. Very often in real-world scenes, texture is instead due to a surfac...

Background and Objective: The somatosensory system plays an important role in balance control and age-related decline in somatosensory function has been implicated in falls incidence. Textured surfaces may provide an inexpensive and accessible means to enhance somatosensory input. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of somatosensory exercise on balance of elderly. Materials and M...
متن کاملSegmenting textured 3D surfaces using the space/frequency representation.
Segmenting 3D textured surfaces is critical for general image understanding. Unfortunately, current efforts of automatically understanding image texture are based on assumptions that make this goal impossible. Texture-segmentation research usually assumes that the textures are flat and viewed from the front, while shape-from-texture work assumes that the textures have already been segmented. Th...
